Volunteering gives community members the opportunity to work alongside our farmers and gain valuable skills related to growing food in a community setting.
We host regular weekly volunteer days, as well as special volunteer events throughout the season. Volunteers, be they experienced gardeners or those looking to learn more about farming and SCF programs, are encouraged to attend. We also have a variety of volunteer opportunities for people interested in learning more about working in the non-profit sector.

Denver Green School Community Farm – Regular Volunteer Days
10am -noon, Thursdays and Saturdays from April through October.
Group Volunteer Events
Groups from schools, summer camps, and offices are always welcome at Sprout City Farms. Spending a day working and learning together offers valuable team building experience while making a difference in the community. Please contact our Farm Director at least 2 weeks in advance to schedule your opportunity.
Before coming out to the farm:
- If you are going to be volunteering more than one day during the season at the Denver Green School Community Farm, please complete the DGS Volunteer Packet and mail to Denver Public Schools Volunteer Services. Once this is filled out and sent to DPS, no need to wait for confirmation to begin volunteering. You will be contacted if there are any follow-up questions.
- Be sure to bring water, gloves, hat, sunscreen, sturdy shoes, smiles and friends!
- Please be sure to also sign-up for our email list (to the right) and let us know you’re interested in volunteering.
Additional Volunteer Opportunities
If you are not interested in volunteer opportunities on the farm, we always have opportunities for people who want to help grow our organization. We are currently most in need of the following skills sets and/or experience:

- Media and marketing
- Grant writing
- New: Demonstration cook – help showcase the weekly harvest. Available dates: 7/24, 8/21 and 9/18
