Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteering gives community members the opportunity to work alongside our farmers and gain valuable skills related to growing food in a community setting.

We host regular weekly volunteer days, as well as special volunteer events throughout the season. Volunteers, be they experienced gardeners or those looking to learn more about farming and SCF programs, are encouraged to attend. We also have a variety of volunteer opportunities for people interested in learning more about working in the non-profit sector.

Group Volunteer Events
Groups from schools, summer camps, and offices are always welcome at Sprout City Farms. Spending a morning working and learning together offers valuable team building experience while making a difference in the community. We can typically accommodate group sizes of up to 25 people for 2-3 hours for a suggested donation. To request and schedule a group volunteer event, please complete and return our SCF Visit Request.

Before coming out to the farm:

  1. If you are going to be volunteering more than one day during the season at the Denver Green School Community Farm, please complete the DGS Volunteer Packet and mail to Denver Public Schools Volunteer Services. Once this is filled out and sent to DPS, no need to wait for confirmation to begin volunteering–you’re ready to go! You will be contacted if there are any follow-up questions. At our other sites, you will be asked to sign a waiver upon arrival.
  2. Please be ready for the day’s weather and bring a water bottle, gloves, hat, sunscreen, sturdy shoes (no flip flops please), and friends with you to the farm!
  3. In order to get volunteer updates throughout the year, please follow us on Facebook and sign up for our email list too!
