Work and EBT/SNAP Shares

Work Shares

Working shareholders are required to sign up for the 2017 season and pay the full vegetable CSA membership price. Upon completion of 40 hours of work on the farm, they will be reimbursed for half of the share cost ($187.50 for Mountair Park Community Farm or $212.50 for Denver Green School Community Farm). Work share members can help with a variety of farm activities from April-October including field work, harvesting, assisting with CSA and Farm Stand, as well as supporting SCF events and programs. Work shares provide an excellent opportunity to learn about sustainable urban agriculture while defraying the cost of fresh food for your family! You will be required to attend a work share orientation in the spring and to complete SCF’s standard volunteer waiver. Thanks for helping to support your community farm!

SNAP/EBT Shares

We do require that SNAP/EBT CSA members pay a $20 deposit at the beginning of the year, which will be returned at the end the season if the member misses no more than 3 CSA pickups during the season. The season is 17 weeks long and runs from June to October. Shares are $10 a week and members will be charged using SNAP/EBT benefits every week, in person at pickup. These shares are available as part of Double Up Food Bucks Colorado.  A limited number of $10 SNAP/EBT shares are available at each farm due to funding; however, shares can be purchased full price at either farm with SNAP/EBT customers, email csa@sproutcityfarms.org if interested in this option.
