Work and SNAP/EBT Shares

Work Shares

Working shareholders fill out an application, and upon acceptance into the program, sign up for the 2018 season, paying the full vegetable CSA membership price. Upon completion of 50 hours of work on the farm–an average of 2 hours a week throughout the season–they will be reimbursed for half of the share cost ($200 at Dahlia Campus, $212.50 at DGS & MAP Community Farms). Work share members can help with a variety of farm activities from April-October including field work, harvesting, assisting with CSA and Farm Stands, as well as supporting SCF events and programs.

Working shares provide an excellent opportunity to learn about sustainable urban agriculture while defraying the cost of fresh food for your family! You will be required to attend a work share orientation in the spring and to complete SCF’s standard volunteer waiver. Thanks for helping to support your community farm!

SNAP/EBT Shares

Vegetable CSA shares can be purchased with SNAP/EBT benefits!  The shares are half-price at $12 a week and members will be charged using SNAP/EBT benefits every week, in person at CSA pickup.  We ask that SNAP/EBT shareholders pay a $20 deposit at the beginning of the year, which will be refunded at the end the season if the member misses no more than 3 CSA pickups during the season.  The season is 17 weeks long and runs from June to October.

These shares are made available as part of Double Up Food Bucks Colorado.  A limited number of $12/week SNAP/EBT shares are available at each farm due to funding; however, shares can be purchased full price at either farm with SNAP/EBT benefits (please email csa@sproutcityfarms.org if interested in this option).
