MAP is Back! 🌱

After two years away from growing at Mountair Park Community Farm (MAP), we’re excited to be back!

In 2024, after 10 seasons, we made the difficult decision to pause production at MAP to give the land time to rest and to reflect on how the farm could continue serving the evolving needs of the surrounding community.

In 2025, our longtime partners at Ekar Farm led food production at MAP, while Sprout City Farms focused on community engagement and helped manage food distribution from the site.

Now, we’re thrilled to be returning to the farm and putting our hands back in the soil. MAP has always been more than a place to grow vegetables; a place for community education and connection.

Over the past two years, we’ve spent time listening to community members and reflecting on the persistent need for access to fresh food in the neighborhood. Because of that, we’re making a bold shift this season: instead of operating a traditional CSA program, our goal is to distribute most of the food we grow through no-cost farm stands and donation-based farm stands, and donations to food pantries and other community access points. 

We’re also excited to welcome back Andrea’s No-Cost Market for its third season at MAP.  This will be the first time we’ll be farming alongside Andrea’s community-centered work on site. Seeing the impact of the bi-weekly no-cost market has inspired us and shown us an opportunity to help fill gaps and expand access even further.

On the Wednesdays that Andrea’s market is not operating, Sprout City Farms will host our own no-cost market featuring produce grown right at MAP!

Stay tuned as have so many exciting things planned for this season including regular volunteer opportunities, community meals, Lunch & Learns, and more! Plus we are hosting a Comeback Kick-off celebration on Saturday June 27th!
