Food Access & Community Donations
Because fresh, healthy food is a human right!
Produce donations
Past partners have included:
Denver Green School, Molholm Elementary School, and 11th Ave. Head Start Preschool. We donate to the school Food Pantries and Backpack Programs on Fridays, supporting families who need a little extra help with healthy options through the weekend.
We believe supporting those most in need is vital to meeting the health and food security needs of the communities in which we work. It’s not a charitable aspect of our organization, it is our organization. It’s why we do what we do! To ensure that our food is equitably distributed, Sprout City Farms:
donates 10%-20% of our harvest to local food assistance programs;
allocates 50% of our CSA memberships to food access through SNAP/EBT, WIC, and Solidarity shares;
supplies local high-need school cafeterias;
offers half-price on produce to SNAP customers at the farmers market;
and distributes produce through neighborhood farm stands using "suggested donation” prices.
All in all, over half (55%) of our harvest is dedicated to all of our diverse food access programs.
